Hotel Lincolnshire is built.

It is located at 16 – 20 Charles Street. Henry Shattuck is a longtime resident. The hotel is taken over by the US Navy during World War II for use as a nurses’ residence. Subsequently purchased by Massachusetts General Hospital and used as a dormitory for nurses, it is converted to condominiums in 2006.
